Program mentors are people who have experience of their own initiatives implementation and have passed a special training course. The most important task of a mentor is to support the participants’ learning process and the process of reflection. On the one hand, the relationships between a mentor and a participant are full of trust and intimacy, but, nevertheless, they remain at the professional level only. The main tools of mentor’s work are coaching methods, primarily open-ended questions, as well as counseling. A mentor helps a participant to understand his sources of resources and potential that he / she already has in solving the problems that have arisen. A mentor helps to define the goals and needs, but all the decisions and their consequences, in this case, are the responsibilities of the participants only. The latter decides to what extent he/she should use the information provided by a mentor. Further information on the activities of mentors can be found here.
